In the morning Alia and I drew in Mougins where we got very hot and I must say our stop for that amazing lunch was most welcome. I then took Alia to Valbonne where we found the coolest shadiest place I could find and we were still very hot!! This is my starter painting of the church door, now I notice the bottom of the door is rather lower than it should be and might be a little difficult to correct particularly as it’s painted in water colours.
So I decided we should go somewhere cooler the next day. it was quite a trek and it seemed that we had many obstacles blocking our journey, so many I nearly turned around. but finally we found a moment of paradise. the above is a five minute sketch made with a very wide flat brush, there is plenty of room for improvement, but I quite like it.
This was my quick sketch from our day in Courmes and the below the trees near to Gourdon, where we were playing with shadows on the trees.
With the idea of turning it into an abstract painting.
Then this little bit of glory. I came to the studio yesterday morning and realised I was too tired to accomplish anything, so I joined my dearest friend Alison for a cool break by the beautiful river Argens.
A biêntot!
I think the door of that church is a step down at the entrance. It may not be wrong. Lovely to see this xxx

That church door and arch is very much after Russell Flint (one of my favourite artists) all lovely paintings…Love A > Message du 02/08/16 10:06 > De : “Tessas Painting Trips in Provence” > A : trevor.zutshi@orange.fr > Copie à : > Objet : [New post] A few of my sketches from the week > >WordPress.com
