I love Milan.
I had a nice breakfast and then walked across the small park to the tube station. I had been slightly worried about going right across town on the metro, but then I remembered I used to be Londoner and anyone who can cope with the tubes in London at rush hour can cope with the sleepy, very clean and quite small metro in Milan. And so my journey started.
I arrived at the Art Fair too early, I hate to be late, but it was just lovely sitting in the sunshine appreciating the calm and wondering why they were trying to sell Minis outside an art exhibition.
Funny though it may seem, by the time I arrived my nerves had dissipated and I was full of happiness just to go around and look at the painting. There were not many Galleries there suitable to take my work and me not suitable for them either. But there were one or two and I showed three Galleries the beautiful art book my niece Rosie made for me. Everyone was very nice, no rejections, I chose carefully, and one Contemporary art Gallery that was interested in my big abstracts and another in my small water colours and another who had really beautiful work on show told me before looking at my art book that they only worked with 4 Artists but could they look at my book anyway. They were very complimentary. They all loved the book. Then happily I saw the gallery that is representing me at the Affordable Art Fair in St Sebastien. So all in all a good day out.
Followed by a nap at the hotel before going out to take these photo’s of just a tiny few of the amazing clothes shops here in Milan. A feast for the eyes!
Back home tomorrow and soon to my studio I feel inspired!
