I can’t help myself at this time of year, I find the colours of the autumn leaves so beguiling, so entrancing, interesting, beckoning, happy, joyful, inspirational, magical. I just can’t keep my eyes off them looking away or walking away from them becomes almost unbearable. Each leaf has a pattern a character unique and almost talkative. “Oh I want you to paint, no paint me, no paint me” It is so hard to decided where I am going to sit and paint, but decide I have to, otherwise those leaves can get quite noisy. Then when I do sit and I look and I paint, the only sounds are those of the breeze teasing the leaves to move and the birds busy for their departure. An occasional car passes nearby and just wafts itself serenely into the sounds of the heaven I am sitting in.

The field behind out house.
I think I could call these darlings ‘The last joyful dance’ I can almost hear them “sing catch me if you can” So I am trying to.

I hope they don’t do their last dance and leave before I have time to finish them. I will show you when it is finished.
Those vine leaves are fabulous
