I am immensly lucky to not only live where I do, but to be able to travel and paint in some of the most beautiful places in Provence my home and of course elswhere. This year has taken my trips to Cinque Terre in Liguaria, Fivizzanno in Tuscany and Sarezanna in Alexandria and last but not least Venice in Venezia, to here at home in Lorgues and Bonnieux in the Luberon. Next year we are off to Mallorca which I am very excited about.
It has been a very busy year for me, so busy, that I don’t stop to reflect on what I’ve done or even write about it. January is always a quiet month, a time to catch up on paper work and do my accounts, which I absolutely loathe doing. Just let me paint please!!!!
February takes us to the Camargue. It is a tradition for David and I to take our doggies and stay in a wonderful airbnb which has endless views and the most amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Of course, we have the flamigos, the bulls, the white horses and the Mediteranean Sea looking absolutely splendid!

It is a wonderful time of year to visit the Camargue, not too many tourists, crisp and bright and sunny. Perfect for painting and picnics and walks along the canal. Arles is not far away either, the roman arena, the musee de Van Gogh, the beautiful bridge over the extra-ordinary river Rhone, which spreads itself into so many estuaries that create the salt marshes of the Camargue, Which also invites an array of wild life condensed into one small area. A protected area, thank goodness. If you haven’t visited the Camargue yet, then I think it is time you do, of course if you can.
I have put together a comprehensive on line course for beginners and for those of you who would like a refresher course you will find it on my website paintprovencewithtess . Please have a look to see if it may suit you. I cover everything from techniques, colour mixing, compostion, lanscape and perspective, plus you will have one to one zoom lessons with me.
Happy Days
A bientôt
