My long forgotton blog from provence

I keep forgetting I have a blog and that I can write to you all from this platform. So good evening from a Wintery Provence. It has been such a fun year in 2025, 2025 is in two days time ooh la la.

In January I visited my darling Swiss friends where we painted together at Lac Leman.

We then all met up in London to go to the Tate and see The singer Sargent exhibition which was phenomonel. I had no idea quite how exquisite his portrait paintings were. Absolutley stunning paintings.

Isn’t she so beautiful? His genius painting materials to me are second to none.

We had a private view of 14 Watercolours by Turner from his teenage years to his old age. We were taken through locked doors into a private viewing room and were shown with great knowledge by the women there his work. It was a gift and quite tear jerking really. From London I went to join the group of artists I paint with near Marlborough and had a tremendous time.

Still life with Yellow rose. My sister Sarah has this painting of mine hanging in her dining room! From London home to Lorgues to prepare for my exhibition in Italy. Quite a fast turn around to say the least.

I held a five day workshop at the wonderful Vigneti Repetto Sarezanno, which is a fabulous winery and bed and breakfast and has the most spectacular views. The landscapes are dreamy. At the end of our workshop I had the opening of my exhibition. We had a fabulous 10 days there.

Home from Italy just to prepare for my art workshop in Mallorca, no wonder I was tired by June! I drove from Lorgues to Barcelona and took the ferry to Palma. We had such a fun trip, we had a villa with a sea view over the Port of Soller, the sunrises and sun sets were magical. We painted in Valledemossa, Fornalutx and other pretty villages.

I had a lovely summer break and then ended my 2024 trips in Paris. That was beyond my wildest dreams, as they say. I was able to fall in love with Paris, I had the time to see such beauty, not only in the museums, but in the buildings and streets, the river. Oh my word what a trip.

Sadly because I leave nearly a year between each blog, I can’t possibly share all the wonderful photos and splendid meals and days we had.

For my New Years resolution I am going to try to get into the habit of writing at least twice a month.

In the meantime, I would like to wish you all an amazing New Year.

A bientot

Tess
