I am in the Alpes Maritimes teaching a one to one five day art course with a delightful woman. On Monday we started the day at her apartment drawing and painting and abstracting a still life. Anna wants to become an abstract artist so we are having quite a bit of fun together. At lunch time Anna to me to a great vegetarian and organic Restaurant we had falafal salad and it was delicious.

In the afternoon we painted in the small streets of Antibes trying out various different mediums and different ways of seeing things.

Courmes in the hills inland from Bar sur Loup, quite beautiful especially for water colours.

This pretty little house is what we painted, I will show the paintings tomorrow. We then went for lunch in Gourdon.

Gourdon with its birds eye view over the Cotes d’Azur and the Esterel mountains.

Abstraction begins.

After the lovely lunch we went to the woods and using charcoal only worked on negative space. It is so much easier said than done.

Today is Mougins and tomorrow I will post some paintings.
