Hardly Provence, yet here I am again today!! with PaintProvencewithTess .
Yesterday morning I went early to Pigeon beach to have fun with the palm trees.
A two minute painting explosion of colour. Then I met Lucy and we went to Half Moon Bay photo below, which is paradise supreme one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world apparantly. We ordered a mahi-mahi wrap from the beach Restaurant and then I called Mick a friend and crew member from way back I don’t think I have seen Mick for 24 years now. OOh la la and I met Pammie his lovely wife to be and their rescue dogs, what a wonderful treat.
Sitting looking at the view from the beach restaurant waiting very happily for our wraps.
Lucy drove me home and I had time for a quick lunch then off I went with our lovely friend Sarah to visit UM I can’t remember all the names. We went up to a place near Shirely’s Heights with a view of English Harbour and Nelsons Dockyard. All from a beautifully looked after historical ruin called ??
So another great place to paint. We didn’t go to Shirley’s Heights but I will be taking the group there to paint on Thursday afternoon as the Steel Band will be playing and everyone can have sundowners there before heading home for dinner.
Then we went whizzing down to Clarence House where we also have permission to paint. Clarence House used to be owned by the Queen Mother and is being restored. Again a perfect place to paint.
After a whorl wind visit Sarah whisked me off back through the rain forest to her friend and artist Sally Harker. What an amazing day we will have painting here!!
The word that comes to mind is LUSH!!
Sally has kindly said she will give us a quick demonstration of her wood paintings. No sooner we there than we left. Whoosh….Off to another place whose name is Wallings Dam, from which there is a hike through the forest, the dam is no longer in use but the trees are extra ordinary and it would be fun to paint their giant limbs.
This little red brick building with roots and branches coming out of it used to be the pump for the dam. Then off we go….
Our final stop in paradise Little Ffryes Beach where we will paint the tilting palms. On one of the mornings we will go to Sheer Rock and paint those amazing views, and in the afternoon in the shade of Coco Bay Resort we can either paint their beautiful garden or the views. I think I have the week planned now and soon I will have November and Decembers Paint Provence with Tess in Antiguas’ dates and hopefully next March as well.
And I leave you now with a picture of my group of local students today at Pigeon Beach.
